Is it terrible that I don't remember *why* I followed you? But I know why I've stuck around! It's all quality posts up in here, geek and otherwise :)
Aw, thanks Mayra! Never did I imagine a *real* friendship would bloom from our initial BBM conversations through the “Tumblrs” group…yet it did, very organically I might add! :D Needless to say, I love having you within my circle of friends, and I’m an absolute FAN of your tumblr.
“In the book, one of the things I say is that people always believe kids don’t understand the difference between fact and fiction. But they do! A child can watch The Little Mermaid and they know the singing crabs on TV are very different from the real crabs on the beach. You give an adult a piece of fiction, and the adult cannot handle it. The adult begins to ask, ‘How can Batman afford to run a business and be Batman at night?’ ‘How do the lasers come out of Superman’s eyes?’ ‘Why does he wear those clothes?’ And all you want to say is, ‘Because it’s not real!’”—
This reminds me of the time I showed a friend of mine the trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He’s a guy that’s really, really into video games, so I thought the whole 8-bit aspect of the story would appeal to him. But after the trailer was done he just turned to me and said, “Wait, so how does he know how to fight?”
“Uh. Well, he just does. He’s Scott Pilgrim.”
“No but— Is there a part in the movie where someone trains him and stuff? Like, how can he just all of a sudden know how to fight like that?”
“That’s not really… I mean they do allude in the comics that his cool gay roommate is the one who tea— You know what? Never mind.”
Currently obssesed with Games of Thrones debido a la explicacion que me diste a mi y a Tito.
And I’m so HAPPY about that! :D We guys should organize a 1st season marathon just-because and discuss it all afterwards over drinks and stuff. Or perhaps just skip to the “discuss it all over drinks” part… xD
How was the service? Because the time I ate there, it was TERRIBLE. The food took an hour and a half to get there.
It sucks that your experience was so bad…mine was pretty good, actually. Food (well, appetizers, which is what we ordered) and drinks came appropriately fast and the waitress was courteous and all-smiles. A damn shame about the half-destroyed beach deck, though. :/
