It cannot be stated enough how much I want to see this show in HD, on a 55” screen with a decent 5.1 HT system connected to it. Blu-ray, COME TO ME.
p.s. Before the Holidays, HBO, for crissakes. Not next year. :|

Game of Thrones 1x09

 • This episode not only gives this newborn TV series serious emotional gravitas, it cements its position as the BEST FUCKING DRAMA ON TELEVISION.
 • Robb returning to Catelyn on horseback from his first battle to that sumptuous score by Ramin Djawadi…oh my gawd, I can’t even… :o Such a majestic, emotional moment.
 • All the Dany/Dothraki scenes were executed brilliantly, with Mirri Maz Duur’s tent shenanigans turning out the perfect kind of freaky.
 • Cinematography and Art Direction were FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC this episode: The Twins, Walder Frey’s keep interior, the impromptu Dothraki camp and the last scene proved particularly memorable from a visual standpoint.
 • Dat flawless writing! I perfectly understand now why this was the episode submitted for the Writing Emmy. <3 Of particular note is the ultra organic (and FUN) exposition during that Tyrion/Shae/Bronn “sleepover” scene. Marvelous.
 • And the direction of Alan Taylor was the best this season has seen, only partially matched by Minahan’s “You Win or You Die”.
 • The end scene has been overanalyzed during the last 12 hours so I’m not going to delve deeper here, just say it was incredibly moving…yes, even more than anticipated.

Next week is the season finale. You know what’s coming, guys? FIRE AND BLOOD.

Emilia Clarke.

Damn.
She’s downright GORGEOUS.
